Yes, it was a quick trip. I can spend hours looking through product in toy stores and the board game section is definitelyt a place not to race through. It's easy to focus on what's being displayed at the end of an isle. With a short trip its hard to browse down each isle.

Interesting question you raise: Dora is to Disney Princesses as Diego is to Disney ___?____. Anyone who follows the toy world have an answer?

I guess you couldn't fit the board games into your 15 minutes. I love to walk slowly down that aisle and read what the ultimate goals are in each board game.

I too would prefer a large Dora teen display to a reasonably violent "T for Teen" or "M for Mature" XBox game if I was with my children.

In regard to Diego vs. Dora, yes there are animals, but I believe that Diego has more of a mature feel to it than the original Dora. Also, Diego doesn't focus on the Princess thing, thus keeping the invitation open to both boys and girls. Children who like Dora also like Disney, and so the purchases for toys would be split between the two. I don't know who Diego's competition is on the Disney front, so that may (imo) also be why he outsells her.
