360KID has recently completed the first phase of development for Pokémon Learning League, which recently won two coveted educational awards.
The Pokémon Learning League was named as a Finalist for Distinguished Achievement Award from the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP). The AEP has supported and promoted the educational publishing industry for over 100 years. Its Distinguished Achievement Awards recognize the best educational materials within subject categories and by audience.
The Pokémon Learning League Website is also one of the winners of the 13th Annual Best Educational Software (BESSIE) Awards for 2007. The BESSIE Awards "target innovative and content-rich programs and websites which provide parents and teachers with the technology to foster educational excellence." The Pokémon Learning League was given an award in the category of Multi-Subject Website.
360KID was instrumental in the development of the Learning League and provided content for four curriculum areas: math, science, language arts and life skills. Working with initial scripts, 360KID was responsible for storyboarding, animating, and programming over 100 lessons. Each lesson consists of several minutes of animation, explaining each curriculum concept in the style of a mini-episode. These lessons are followed by interactive sequences where children are tested on their comprehension in these curriculum areas.
"360KID is proud to be part of this project," said Scott Traylor, CEO of 360KID. "Pokémon Learning League is the type of project we love to be involved in – it is creative, engaging, and it combines true learning with fun."
360KID will continue to work with Pokémon to further develop Pokémon Learning League.
